Liberty solve Sparks at MSG

(TSX / STATS) -- The New York Liberty used a huge second quarter run to take over the game and beat the Los Angeles Sparks for the first time in three tries this season, 83-69 on Sunday afternoon at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The Liberty outscored Los Angeles 20-0 during a six-minute stretch of the second quarter.

New York forced five Sparks turnovers and outscored them 28-8 in the period to turn an 11-point deficit into a 44-35 halftime lead.
